Gray Overlay :: two-piece dress + white heels

The concept of an overlay dress was new to me until I spotted this beauty on Gap.com last month. I immediately thought it'd be a great addition to my wardrobe, a) because dresses are my jam, b) I didn't own any gray dresses up until this point, and c) it's two pieces in one...TWO in ONE. Let me explain...
This dress looks like two separate pieces because it is. But it's also a dress, not  a skirt and crop top combo. I'm realizing now that I should have included photos of this but hindsight is always 20/20! So the dress part of this dress is a spaghetti strap dress, which can be worn alone or with this crop top that it came with. I love how I can wear both pieces together to create an overlay dress, or I can wear both pieces separately for an entirely new look. Smart and versatile fashion at its finest; now that's what I'm talking about!
These off-white heels have become a fast favorite of mine. As soon as I saw them in Ann Taylor I knew they were something special. Look at that heel! So gorgeous. And the best part is that they go well with everything and really freshen up all my summertime looks.
This unique Kenneth Jay Lane piece is one that may appear challenging to style at first, but I have fun wearing it with both neutrals and exotic prints. See another outfit I've paired it with here
My gold spike bracelet from Stella & Dot is an understated and easy way of bringing some rocker vibes to an otherwise simple, feminine outfit. I love how it's elegant yet edgy at the same time.
My cream leather/gold bangle matches these heels to a "T." How cool is that?
Understated gold bar earrings are the new diamond stud; classic, effortless, and always stylish.
These photos were taken in Union Square Park. This area of New York is so vibrant and lively!

[dress: Gap // heels: Ann Taylor (sold out but I also like these) // necklace: Kenneth Jay Lane (I also like this) // gold bar earrings: Kevia (similar here) // cream and gold bangle: Reiss (I also like this one) // gold link bracelet: Stella & Dot // gold spike bracelet: Stella & Dot // amethyst bangle: David Yurman // heart bracelet: Tiffany & Co.

This week has certainly been a crazy one. I moved into my new Upper Eastside apartment on Monday but surprise surprise, when my roommates and I came with our stuff, we were shocked to see that the former tenants had left behind most of their belongings. There wasn't even space in my new room to put my boxes. Long story short, we're beginning to unpack now but I can tell it'll be a long process. Moving is no joke...especially in New York City...especially on the 6th floor of a walk up. My calf muscles are about to be on point!
