This skirt! I can't get enough of it. The effortless combination of watercolors, neon, and lace is sensory overload in the best way possible.
The lace trim is gorgeous and I love the unexpected edge it gives to such a uniquely feminine skirt
I hit the jackpot with these matching accessories!

I find that, for me, it's always a stubborn transition from summer to fall, and it looks like this year is no exception.

I'm still not ready to move my open-toed shoes to the back of the closet and slip on some tights and a jacket. I adore autumn - and all that comes with it, including pumpkin everything and cozy oversized sweaters - but summer is my ultimate favorite time of year and it's so hard to say goodbye!

I'm getting my bright hued kicks one last time in this stunning skirt and matching accessories. I still can't believe how well these jewelry pieces compliment my skirt. Not even Mother Nature could stop me from taking advantage of this hot combo.

Goldilocks

Feminine, sophisticated, and playful - a look effortlessly accomplished by this stunning Fiigirl frock. As far as I'm concerned, this dress meets all of my style standards, deeming it, as Goldilocks would say, "just right!"
One of my favorite elements of this piece is the black ribbon belt that ties in back resulting in a large yet delicate bow. I find this perk to be simple yet impactful - it makes a creative statement while flattering the wearer.

Courtesy of Fiigirl, I was very excited to receive this sunny dress in the mail this past week - it literally brightened up my day! I find the vivid color to be bold, sassy, and frankly, just right for almost any occasion that may require a dress.

The dress's graceful ruffles add a delicate and ethereal appeal while the bow grounds it a bit and adds a conservative amount of whimsicality. I truly feel like a present all wrapped up in beautiful paper and a bow.

...this one has me feeling like a ray of sunshine!

Crop Top Craze - USA Style

Although Fourth of July and Labor Day have both passed, it's never too late to show off some good ol' partiotic blue & red stripes. I just love the combination!

I know this is a summery look and it's already almost mid-September, but it's still sweltering hot down here in NC. so bear with me while I channel my inner summer goddess while I still can!

I'm usually not one to show off my belly, but with the midriff craze that seemed to sweep the nation this summer, I thought I'd give it a try - using my own taste and personality of course! I told myself it was fashion research.
Here's what I discovered:

1.) If I'm going to give into the whole crop top thing then my stomach-bearing top of choice will not be a tight one

2.) High(er)-waisted bottoms - whether that be a skirt, or shorts, or jeans - are a must

3.) Keep the overall look fun and light - nothing too serious otherwise I may run the risk of appearing too "Miley Cyrus"

4.) A tie at the bottom is not necessary, but comforting. Notice how mine is strategically placed to cover my bellybutton as well as as much skin as possible

5.)This is a beachy casual look. Period.

Summer Days Not Driftin' Away

Saturday, September 7, 2013

Is it weird to wear a high-low skirt in combination with a high-low top? Nah! I find the look to be a bit casually artsy and even bold. Perfect paired with wedges in order to elongate your figure.
Double-chain necklaces are hot right now - grab one in gold to stay current with the gold popularity rush.

Now that September's here it seems appropriate for the winds of fall to be blowing in. Although the days are slowly getting shorter, I still am able to find the comfort in knowing (from experience) that summer is still here to stay...at least for now.

I find this combination to be great for this time of year - the colors are very "autumn" while the style is still summery and cooling on those lingering hot days. Each piece is super soft and comfy and I honestly feel like I'm just wearing a sweatsuit. I mean, let's be honest, a maxi skirt is really just an excuse to wear crotchless yoga pants. Take advantage while you still can!
