It's a Match // Burgundy Coat + Windowpane Pants

Matching my turtleneck to my coat, I'm strolling into this holiday weekend in a polished look that's perfect for fall, Thanksgiving, or any day of the week.

I consider this look fairly business casual, so I couldn't resist adding a playful spin. This whimsical crossbody is quirky and fun and it totally takes some of the seriousness out of a buttoned-up outfit.

Burgundy, merlot, maroon, scarlet; no matter WHAT you call this deep red shade, it's a gorgeous fall-friendly hue that's flattering on all skin tones. I really took the theme and ran with it, even clipping in a velvet hair bow to match my coat and top. Sometimes matchy matchy hits all the right notes!

This was such a fun outfit to style and wear. I think the windowpane pants really add an unexpected element that keeps the other pieces current and fresh. And of course burgundy is always a winning color. While I'll be playing it more casual on Thanksgiving Day, this look would make such a killer holiday ensemble. Not to mention, it's festive without being over-the-top.

The Bold Pursuit // Striped Sweater + Leather Jacket

Casual yet polished, this is an everyday outfit I can get behind every day. The best part? It's full of subtle personality. 

A bold sweater is a fall must in my book. I love that this option is fitted and a great weight, making it perfect for both layering and tucking into any bottoms. To top it off, I added a leather moto jacket to add some edge to its playful feel.

Leopard booties, oversize heart earrings, a dainty necklace, and moody lip color help make this look one-of-a-kind. The low-key pattern mixing is also a fun way to switch things up without being too loud or risky.

I've spent the past few days visiting my family in the Chicago area. Part of my trip included two days at The University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. where my sister is currently a senior. While we were there, my sister, dad, and I had fun shooting these photos around campus. I was so excited to finally capture some fall vibes since most of the leaves have changed there. 

This was a great outfit to explore in, go out to dinner in, and meet my sister's friends in. I felt comfortable and confident all day — not to mention stylish and on-trend!

That’s a Wrap // Fuzzy Sweater + Belted Coat

Fall weather seems to have wrapped up, which means winter is kinda sorta here already? I’m taking the chillier temps as a cue to wrap MYSELF up! ...And I’m starting with this ultra-chic wool wrap coat.

This super soft sweater is what cozy dreams are made of! Not only is the dreamy texture on-trend, it’s cozy and warm — with the same fluff you see on the outside, on the inside. Just add a fireplace to cuddle up in front of! 

Wrap coats are about as comfy as a robe, and at the same time, infinitely more polished than your run-of-the-mill black down coat. While I don’t know if this one is warm enough to take me all the way through winter, it’s certainly pretty enough to take me to any special event from now until at least December.

This past week, temps took a plunge and it feels like we went from fall to winter in an instant. This New Yorker was definitely not prepared! For one, my body had forgotten what 35-degree weather felt like, so that in itself was a wake up call. 

I was in Utah last week and this week I’m traveling home to Chicago as well as South Bend, IN. You can BET it’ll be even colder up there. Wish me luck!

Snake Charming // Turtleneck Layered Under Jumpsuit

One of the many reasons fall is such a glorious season is that the fashion is dynamic and interesting. It’s the one season where it’s actually hard to find yourself in a style rut. BUT if you are feeling like you’ve exhausted all of your current outfit options, may I suggest taking a deep dive into the world of layering? 

Layers are the easiest, most effective, AND most practical way to switch things up. Lately I’ve been pairing a turtleneck with nearly everything from blazers to dresses to jumpsuits, and it’s been a game-changer. Not only has my fall wardrobe nearly doubled, as I can now wear sleeveless items year round, but this technique has added dimension to my closet, instantly making every outfit appear chicer. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been shamelessly LIVING in these SOREL boots. I have them in both black and brown, but I’ve been wearing my black pair nearly nonstop. Last month, there was one week I wore them every day. 

I received both pairs as a gift after walking in the SOREL mile-long runway show in October. I had been looking for the perfect pair of lace-up boots, and these checked all of my boxes. They’re extremely comfortable and I can confidently wear them all over NYC ALL. DAY. They’re also waterproof, which I love! I personally think they look great with pretty much everything: dresses, skirts, jeans, and jumpsuits.

 These are another batch of photos that my sister and I took during her October visit. We began our day with brunch at the Restoration Hardware rooftop in Meatpacking, and then took these shots outside. We took SO many photos this day, I actually got tired of it, which says A LOT! 

From there, we headed up town and visited Columbia’s beautiful campus just for kicks. In the evening, we saw Waitress on Broadway and loved every minute of it.
