Eye Play

Saturday, December 28, 2013

I love bringing attention to my eyes. Eyes are something that everyone can play up. Think of it this way, unlike your hair, weight, or skin, your eyes can always be counted on. All eyes are beautiful and enhancing them as much as you can - whether that be through the color you're wearing or the makeup you apply - is both an art and an essential beauty technique.
Have you ever had people comment to you, "Oh your eyes are so pretty! They really pop when you wear [fill in the blank]!" Well for me, that 'fill in the blank' is typically the color green. Read further and I'll tell you what your 'fill in the blank' color is!
I love that through my fashion choices I can showoff my eyes and make them appear brighter and bigger!

Learn how to bring out the best in your own eyes simply by wearing complimentary colors!

If you have....

Pale blue eyes: wear lilac or pastel pink
Light brown eyes: honey brown or green
Dark green eyes: plum or peach
Mid-to-dark blue eyes: peach or gold
Pale green eyes: lavender or blue-gray
Dark brown eyes: olive green or camel brown
Hazel eyes (like me): emerald green or purple

When you enhance your eyes, what you're really doing is enhancing your whole look. People are naturally drawn to eyes so go ahead and give yours the boost they deserve!

Santa's Little Helper + GIVEAWAY

Nothing to wear? A flattering LBD is all you need to look polished.
I paired my favorite little black dress with green tights to feel extra festive. ...They remind me of an elf!
Although this dress is simple, I added my own glitz and glamour in the form of fun armcandy and some statement earrings.
Silver, rose gold, and gold. Yes, you CAN mix metals!

Become holiday-ready in an instant by throwing on your favorite black dress and adding accessories that fit the occasion.

I love this particular dress because it's conservative enough for a family event yet I still get to show off my arms and some leg. Because it's sleeveless, it's also perfect for layering, and the skater skirt silhouette is flattering on any body shape!

And now...giveaway time!

Tis the season to give so I decided to host a Firmoo glasses giveaway on my blog right before the holidays! Firmoo is the world's most popular online eyeglasses store and I'm offering three lucky winners one pair of FREE eyeglasses/sunglasses including free shipping.
 Here's how to enter:

1. Follow my blog on GFC (Google Friend Connect) - it's located on the left side of my blog

Sweaters & Gold

Sunday, December 15, 2013

Keeping with my theme of comfortable holiday styles, I decided to pair a festive statement skirt with a loose and casual sweater. I love the juxtaposition between these two pieces and how surprisingly well they flow together.
Blue & gold are complimentary hues and even though there's no red or green in sight, the sparkles and deep tones make this look perfect for the season.
To create an even more casual vibe, throw on a jean jacket (a black one is undeniably chic).
Trade in your heels for a simple pair of booties - your feet will thank you later!

This holiday season I've had a lot of fun experimenting with different types of party looks. I've been testing the waters with various color combinations, statement pieces, and mixing casual with classy. This ensemble is one of my favorites - I cannot get enough of all that glitters!
