Fall Is Calling // sock booties + denim skirt

Hello? Fall? Is that you? While temps may have hit 89 degrees in NYC just this past week, believe it or not, fall weather IS just around the corner. And these key trends are exactly what your autumn wardrobe needs for a stylish season.

 Denim is always in style, but there's something extra classic about a jean mini skirt for fall. The metallic buttons on this one make it chic and modern. As for my top, bow-tie blouses have been trending for a while now and the fashion forecast says that's not changing any time soon.Together, my denim skirt and cream blouse make a crisp pair.

Sock booties may just be my favorite fall trend of all. They went mainstream LAST autumn, but this year they're back with gusto. The 2017 sock boot is taller, tighter, and sockier than ever, which is ideal for dresses and skirts.

Made For Suede // ruffle blouse + suede vest

Autumn & suede go together like peanut butter & jelly. I've been looking for ways to style this gorgeous drapey vest for nearly a year now, and I love how it looks paired with delicate ruffles and true-blue denim. With a dash of firey orange red, this ensemble truly embodies a sophisticated vision of fall.

Throwing a touch of color into a neutral outfit is a no-fail way to give any look major style points. Extra credit for matching the statement hue to your lips, like I did here. 

This supple suede vest by Elie Tahari was one of those pieces I knew I had to have. It was also one of those pieces I bought on an impulse without actually thinking through how I could style it. Here I am, almost a year later, FINALLY getting it up on my blog! Although it took some time to come up with an ensemble worthy of such a gorgeous piece, I think this one does it justice.

While here in NYC we got lucky with a few 72-degree-and-below days, the past week has been just as hot (and miserably humid) as August. Once the days TRULY turn chillier though, I can't wait to pull out this suede vest more often. What pieces are YOU looking forward to wearing this season?

Fall In Line // printed bomber + stripe jeans

Step into fall with decorated denim, bold prints, and vibrant hues. Combining a few of my favorite FW17 trends, I came up with this casual yet chic look. The best part? It's super easy to copy and is the perfect weekend uniform for autumn!

This season is all about making a statement, which you can do in big ways or in small ways. Here, my jacket undoubtedly stands out, but it's not over-the-top. Paired with jeans, it looks even more down-to-earth. Adding a bright clutch into the mix pulls everything together.

Decorated denim is making a splash this fall! If you don't want to go crazy with the trend, these stripe jeans may be your answer. They're simple yet impactful, and oh-so flattering. It's a great pair to help ease you into this whimsical season we're embarking on.

Home Run // red jumpsuit + platform heels

With baseball season in full swing and fall JUST around the corner, there's no better time to fuse fashion and sports together! Embracing the best of both worlds, here I am rocking a trendy fall-forward look WHILE enjoying America's favorite sport. Am I overdressed? You bet. Was it fun and totally worth it? Of course!

I wouldn't normally recommend wearing heels to a baseball game, but hey, I was going all out here, and platform sandals were just apart of my aesthetic. I love this Gucci-esque embroidered pair because the pop of color and burst of floral is completely unexpected yet totally gorgeous. Start collecting your embroidered pieces now, as the trend is only going to get bigger once fall officially hits.

Baseball-game appropriate or not, this red jumpsuit ensemble is a home run. The pom-pom detailing is so-now while my black & gold accents are perfect for autumn.

I have to point out, although in these photos I'm at a Chicago White Sox game, I'm actually a Chicago Cubs fan through and through. But when you're offered free baseball tickets, you don't say no, am I right?
