About Me

Thank you for checking out my blog! My name is Kathleen Harper and I founded Kat's Fashion Fix in 2012 as a creative outlet for sharing my love of all things fashion. I have always been a huge fan of creating my own looks and putting together outfits, so creating this site seemed like a natural step for me to take. I kid you not, in middle school I actually put together outfit calendars and documented every single thing I wore every day down to the accessory. Then by high school I was planning out my outfits weeks in advance and would spend much time creating the perfect look for every occasion. Yes, I am indeed a lover of style.

I'm originally from a western suburb of Chicago called Naperville, but I'm currently living colorfully in New York City as the Associate Native Fashion Editor Editor and Content Strategist at POPSUGAR. I've also spent some time living in Los Angeles and I went to school in beautiful North Carolina at Elon University (shoutout to my fellow Phoenixes)! I love cities, street style, Mister Softee ice cream, and not taking life too seriously.

My hope for this blog is that I am able to inspire each person who views it in some way, big or small. I love fashion and chances are that if you're reading this you do too, so let us celebrate fashion together and let the creative juices flow!

[Disclosure: Sometimes I get free stuff. That stuff is marked *. Sometimes people pay me to write about their company, but hey, I only write about stuff I really actually like. I'd never lie to you all! Those posts are marked as sponsored. And finally, I use affiliate links as much as I can.]

  1. As a fellow fan of fashion, I was wondering what your opinion is regarding the pressure imposed by certain religious groups on the American youth to dress more modestly.

    1. Personally I feel that fashion and style is a very individual form of expression and to each his/her own. What one chooses to wear speaks volumes about that person and how they are feeling and I don't think that has to concern anyone but the wearer. However, there is a fine line between personal expression & taste and offending the people around you. Keep it classy yet trendy!
