Although "shorts" and "office" aren't two words that you'll typically hear in the same sentence, this summer you can have the best of both worlds.
Start with a simple yet flattering blouse. Aim for one that's versatile and sophisticated. I chose a white shell with black piping, which looks great in any season. The sleeveless factor makes it perfect for layering too.
Footwear is very important when you're trying to dress up a pair of shorts. Heels are a must, preferably nude because they elongate your legs.
Throw on a blazer for extra coverage in the office. Bonus, it adds instant polish!
When looking at office shorts, it's important to consider material, length, and pattern. It should go without saying that short shorts are a big no-no, and likewise, so is denim. Opt for a looser fit coupled with a luxurious fabric that's comfortable and breathable. Tencil is a fitting material and so is polyester.
Elevate your look even more by adding some sparkle.
Take off your blazer after hours for a more causal feel.
Incorporate a subtle pop of color through a bracelet.

I wore this look to my best friend's dance showcase last week and then out to dinner with our families. It's the perfect combination of causal and classy and I personally think these shorts from Loft are beautiful. I love how they fit and feel!
If casual Fridays are a thing in your place of work, I highly encourage investing in a pair of sharp shorts that work both off duty and on.
