Home For The Holidays :: perfected travel attire

Whether we like it or not, part of what comes with the holiday season is travel. And whether you prefer planes, trains, or automobiles, looking stylish all the way to your destination is an important step that can help you feel comfortable and confident throughout your entire journey. Never underestimate the power of a well-planned travel ensemble. 

I always make sure I have pockets when I'm traveling because it gives me a convenient spot to place my boarding pass, ID, and some extra cash for the food court. I particularly love these leather pockets because they compliment my leggings and add a bit of an edge to my sweater. 

I find jeans stiff and restricting for all-day travel. Edgy leather leggings are the perfect alternative. Swap these babies out for denim without sacrificing any style. Trust me, sitting pretzel-style during your trip will be so worth it!

I've traveled in heels before, but I always feel most comfortable in flats - especially when I have to wander around an airport. About to miss your train?...you'll thank me later.   

Layering is a fabulous travel trick. I find airplanes freezing so having a deliciously oversized wool sweater like this one is going to be my savior once we take off. It's like coming equipped with my very own blanket. 

Even if my outfit is simple, I'll always step it up in the jewelry department. These mixed-metal pieces keep travel attire polished and put-together.

By the time most of you read this, I will be back home in the good ol' Midwest. It's my first time back since August so I'd be lying if I said I'm not excited! There's just something about coming home for the holidays that make this special time of year all the more extraordinary. 

I put this look together with traveling in mind since I know so many of you will be taking journeys within the next week or two. When I take trips I aim for a  satisfying balance between comfort and fashion when it comes to my wardrobe. This look hits the nail on the head for me. Feeling good while you travel is a sure-fire way to ensure a positive ride.
