Take a black top, pair it with a black skirt, and just like magic you've created your own version of the LBD! It's simple, classic, and leaves room for personal style and creativity. And as we all know, black is extra slimming- I call that a win-win.
For my interpretation, I took an extra-ordinary black tee and paired it with an above-average black skirt, added unexpected neutral booties, a whimsical hair accessory, and there ya go, an outfit of my own that looks like a complete set. I love this shirt because it gives off a slight 50's retro vibe with the delicate polka dots over black silk at the top of the piece. The skirt however, is the opposite; it has a modern flare due to the texturized centered front. Black-on-black-on-black is definitely a look, but for me, I like to add in a pop of color whenever I can; that's why I opted for a lighter hue on my feet. I love these booties and even though they're technically for the winter season, I'm not one to follow seasonal rules, so I love them with a summer dress or a skirt. The feather in my hair was something that I added at the last minute to give this look a bit of an extra touch; I thought it pulled everything together somehow. Best of all, this ensemble works well for day and night!
