Boyfriend Material :: sparkle blazer + jeans

Monday, November 10, 2014

A sequin jacket is more versatile than you think. In fact, this shimmery number is 100% boyfriend jeans material. That's right, the world's most casual jeans and ultra-chic sequins go together as beautifully as chocolate and peanut butter.
Underneath the glitz, it's safest to go totally casual and/or monochromatic. Boyfriend jeans ground this standout blazer for daytime while a solid V-neck doesn't distract from the sparkle.
Velvety, red lips and soft pearls are the ultimate lady-like pairing. When worn with sequins, you add timelessness to a modern, eye-catching trend.
How can you not love boyfriend jeans? I mean, the baggier the better, right? They're the sweatpants of the denim world and look fabulous with heels or sneaks. I love mine slightly distressed and in a medium wash.
When sporting so much sparkle, it's best to let your accessories stand on the sidelines. I kept my earrings neutral and opted for some silver arm candy (because I can never not wear my bracelets). But it's important to note that while my accessories are visible, they also blend in with the black & white hues.
Cuff your jeans to let the skinniest part of your leg (the anklebone area) show. Not only is it flattering, but your shoes can be completely visible.

Anything can be boyfriend jeans material and that's the beauty behind the denim's versatility. Boyfriend jeans can be dressed up with sparkles and pearls, but can just as easily look polished with an oversized sweater and booties.

These photos were taken on the campus of my university. My school has a stunning campus and I wanted to share a little bit of that beauty with you all. Everything looks so picturesque in fall and I wanted to take advantage of the atmosphere. I couldn't believe I had never taken photos in the heart of campus before! Beautiful backdrop, non?

  36. I really love how you styled together a really fancy clothing item ( the sparkly blazer) with the more casual clothing item ( the boyfriend jeans). I think that both of those items are really great statement pieces, but when combined they look even better! :)
And you are so rocking those red lips Kat!
