Cheer Up The Chill :: neutrals + brights

As crisp days become frigid ones, fight the winter blues with a dose of color bright enough to put the sun itself to shame. 

I can't get enough of my new ombre hair. It really brightens up my face and gives my locks a new dimension. Who knew just one little change could make such a confidence-boosting difference? 

This Ann Taylor blouse is an oldie but a goodie. I love the way it's colorblocked. The neutral hues give it a flare of sophistication without looking stuffy. It's also the perfect top to pair with color.

LBBs: little black booties. It's a thing. And I can't believe I waited to get a pair until this year. I keep wondering how I got dressed every morning without them.  These LBBs are definitely my go-to. 

I call these my chandelier earrings. The long crystals dangle so delicately from my earlobes that they elevate any look and give me just the right amount of sparkle. 

Relying on just one colorful piece to bump up your outfit is a safe option when experimenting with color. Keep the rest of your look neutral and focus on a specific bright piece - you'll get a similar effect with less hassle!

Is anyone else as sad as I am about cold weather arriving...and being here to stay? Our daylight hours have been reduced and this past weekend was North Carolina's coldest in six months. Let it be known that temperatures below 60 degrees are no friend of mine. 

But looking on the bright side (pun intended), incorporating cheerful colors into my everyday ensembles definitely helps add some pep to my step. When you're wearing a color this eccentric it's hard not to radiant your own type of warmth. Fact: vibrant hues make you glow even on the grayest of days!
