Nyc fashion blogger Kathleen Harper's fall outfit ideas
I am falling for fall and it feels oh-so good! Breaking out sweaters and pants for the first time since early spring is ALWAYS refreshing, and this year, I'm kicking my fall fashion up a notch with bold hues, interesting silhouettes, and so-now extras.

Where do I even start? I love everything about this fall look — from the rich yellow coupled with bright red, to the retro vibes my makeup and jewelry give off. The pop of leopard and statement purse are icing on the cake.

Don't be shy about embracing color this season. I'm currently loving yellow and red together, and something else I've been experimenting with is style and fit. I'm usually a skinny-pant person, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try these wide-leg pants on for size. Turns out, I'm not just a skinny-pant girl anymore! I love how this pair looks flattering and feels elevated.

Fall is the most exciting time for fashion, so take full advantage while you can! Try out new fits, experiment with color, and finally give yourself that bold cat eye. After all, before we know it, you'll have to cover up underneath a bulky coat! ...Dun dun DUN.

Leopard Lady // animal print dress + biker booties

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

Nyc fashion blogger Kathleen Harper's leopard outfit ideas
Animal print is having a major moment. Whether you rock it head-to-toe or subtly incorporate it through accessories, this is one trend you don't want to miss out on. In fact, leopard print specifically, has surpassed trend status and is officially a bonafide classic. So what are you waiting for?

For a rebellious twist, I teamed this leopard number with tough moto boots. I love the hardware on these bad boys and how they instantly add edge to any outfit. And while cowboy and hiking booties are trending hard this season, you can’t go wrong with a forever staple like this. ...Plus, they COULD pass for modern cowboy boots, right?

I try to incorporate at least some color into every outfit, and here, it took the form of this lavender crossbody. Sweet and dreamy, this purse is the perfect addition to such a trend-focused ensemble.

I've finally brought out my booties and layers! Although it's predominately still been 80 degrees here in NYC, I haven't been able to resist incorporating at least SOME fall trends into my wardrobe. Introducing boots and light top layers into my current rotation has satisfied that cooler-weather itch, and I've had fun trying styling them despite summer temps. Hopefully it cools off soon!

Nyc fashion blogger Kathleen Harper's jean jacket outfit ideas
Take fall by storm in poppy prints, look-at-me accents, and wow-worthy colors. After all, sometimes "too much" is just enough. So go ahead, pile on the color, wear white after Labor Day, and add one more pin — or five! Yep, I'm making bold moves.

I've been working on this denim jacket for a year now, adding pins and buttons from places I've visited and events I've attended. Take a look at what this jean dream looked like just 11 months ago. The personalization has made this jacket a really special piece and one I always have fun wearing. Start building your own collection here

Expect The Unexpected // button-down dress + jeans

Fall brings new styling opportunities and, for me, a newfound sense of adventure when it comes to my clothing. Here, I decided to take a bit of a risk and pair my button-down trench dress with super skinny jeans, resulting in a look that's a little daring with a whole lot of style.

Invest in a button-down dress now and squeeze extra use out of it all through fall by transforming it into a tunic. Just unbutton the last few buttons and wear skinny pants underneath for a modern, so-cool vibe. I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Carrie Bradshaw Lied, do this, and couldn't resist trying out the look for myself!

To add interest to this look, I finished it off with statement accessories like leopard heels, cat eye sunglasses, and extra large earrings. I'm always looking for ways to incorporate fun prints and trendy separates, and this neutral outfit served as a blank canvas for me.

Although cooler temps (and less humidity) can't come quicker in NYC, I'm trying to soak up these last days of warm weather because I know I'll be missing it soon enough. This ensemble serves as the perfect compromise during the summer-fall transition, and its drama is perfect for one last rooftop cocktail hour!
