All Year Dress

It's over 80 degrees here in North Carolina and right now it feels as though fall couldn't be further away. I'd wish for cooler weather but then as soon as it starts to get cold I know that I'll just crave that warm sun again. This is the time of year where I can't make up my mind! Lucky for me, the dress that I'm wearing above is perfect for any season! Black & white is relevant year-round, and the material and cut (not long sleeved yet not sleeveless) of this dress ensures that the dress itself stays relevant as well. Picture this piece with a blazer and tights in the fall and of course some tall boots to compliment the dresses length.
This dress is comfy, breathable, and adorable! My favorite detail is the cutout collar, but who can resist hidden pockets on a nice dress? Enjoy these last few days of September, I know I will!

Bootie Glory

One of my favorite things about fall is wearing boots. And for me, booties are the perfect footwear to compliment shorts, a skirt, or a dress once the weather starts taking a turn for the chilly. I love a light brown or even tan bootie when bare legs are showing, and a black bootie with sleek black tights. When done right, they both will work to elongate your legs and not breakup your line. Booties add that extra edge to any outfit while I think of riding boots as adding prep and an element of sophistication. Booties are fresh and young and especially with a heel, very chic. Overall, booties are very adaptable and can be worn formally or casually, which translates into "closet staple."

Subtle Busyness

[blouse: Ann Taylor, skirt: Urban Outfitters, wedges: Fergie (Macy's), headband: boutique. necklace: Tiffany & Co., dangle earrings: American Eagle Outfitters, stud earrings: juicy Couture, bangles: Alex & Ani]

Here I go again with the summery outfits, but when it's 80 degrees outside it's hard to think "fall!" And hey, I happen to love my summer clothes - nothing wrong with that. In fact, much of my fall wardrobe is just me finding more weather-appropriate ways to style my summer clothes. ....It may be time for a fall shopping spree
This is a look that I love and it subtly combines the mixing-pattern trend (polka dots on the skirt and cheetah on the headband) as well as being right on point in terms of color. What I really love about this outfit is that it is not boring at all - there's a lot going on yet it doesn't necessarily feel that way...if that makes any sense. Happy weekend everyone!
Ps. I'm still rocking white!

Back in White

I told you my white jeans would make an after-Labor-Day appearance, and here they are, in all their crisp post-summer glory! There are no rules in my fashion book so I say hey, wear as much white as your heart desires...even (gasp) after Labor Day. To make this outfit more "fall," I paired my jeans with a long sleeved collared top in the must-have color of the moment - blue! I love this shirt, and although it may resemble pajamas to some, I find it classy and versatile (and very comfy). So go ahead, don't be afraid to go back to your whites - they miss you!
