Although I am still a student and not yet part of the professional working world, it has come to my attention that a lot of women are scared of color in the work setting. Color is our friend, always has been, and always will be. For some, adding color to one's office wardrobe seems risky, but it doesn't have to be that way.
Take this lovely ensemble I pieced together with different separates from Ann Taylor's summer collection as an example. It is extremely office appropriate for most settings and a blazer can easily be added in order to look more professional; a cardigan would look nice too. And of course in the office environment, a pair of nude pumps could be appropriately substituted for the sandals pictured above. This outfit is great on so many different levels aside from the business level though. It's also an eye-catcher for a night out to dinner or a summer garden-type party with the ladies. The bright colors make it versatile while the structure and form keep it professional and classy. For me, the yellow statement necklace makes the whole outfit and takes this look from put-together and stylish to downright fashionable and envy-worthy. The top half can effortlessly be worn with white jeans or even denim for a more everyday type of look. This outfit is truly fresh and screams style; from the colors that are totally in right now, to the top's exotic yet subtle pattern.

    1. Thanks Karli! And I totally agree- there's no reason for your office wardrobe to be boring and typical :)
