It's true, the 90s habit of tying your jacket around your waist favored by moms and tourists everywhere, is back...but this time in style.
The neat thing about this trend is that it's a super easy and casual alternative to a belt if you want to cinch your waist, which is perfect for tunics or flowey tops. You just need to make sure to keep the edge and some major stye alive in order to avoid looking like a goofy amusement park goer.
If you're going to tie an article of clothing around your waist, you should make sure that there's some edge to the rest of your outfit. Cue statement metal accessories and a pair of killer sling-backs.
Keep the rest of your outfit simple and chic. Avoid bright colors paired with loud patterns. Save the Hawaiian print for Disney World.
Leather leggings make a simple look like this stand out. You want to add as many different textures as you can, and leather paired with denim and cotton is an effortless spring combination.

I've never been one who enjoys blending in. In fact, I've learned that it doesn't take much to stand out and embrace your individuality. Take personal style for example, there's no better outlet for me to showcase my mood and spirit than through clothing.
And I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
"If you're lucky enough to be different, don't change to be the same."
- Taylor Swift

Gorgeous!! I love the layering, and even though I love the look of a shirt tied at the waist, I'm still not sure I can pull it off.
