Let's talk leather. This durable and flexible material has had a special place in my heart ever since the purchase of my first (vegan) leather jacket two years ago. Since then I've experimented with (and ended up loving) faux leather leggings, leather jewelry, and leather detailing on every article of clothing imaginable. Leather is definitely not just reserved for shoes and bags anymore. In fact, it is one of the most versatile materials out there and for fall/winter, it's THE item to have in abundance.
This emerald green skirt immediately caught my eye. I love everything about it - the smooth leathery texture, striking color, and sleek fit make this unique piece a refreshing addition to any wardrobe. It's professional enough for the office yet edgy enough for drinks afterwards. Pair with a crop top and booties on the weekend.
How adorably chic is this tie neck blouse? It's available here in multiple colors and even here in a different print. I was drawn to the vertical stripes because with such a classic, Victorian-esque top you need a little modern spice to keep from looking frumpy and outdated.
The gold buttons on my sleeve provide an extra splash of polish. And in this photo it's a little bit easier to tell that my blouse is actually navy and white, not black and white.
I couldn't help but think of Blair Waldorf after I saw these photos. Even though Blair is a fictional character, she's definitely one of my style icons! She's preppy, extremely polished, and always on point.
Sam Edelman is my favorite shoe designer. I haven't met a pair of his that isn't comfortable, stylish, and budget friendly. I love these shoes so much that I have them in three different colors/prints. I'm telling you, this pair is a classic!
The smoky eye is so right for the fall season. I use my Naked Smoky palette to nail the look every time. But of course if you choose to play up your eyes, you have to tone down your lip. Here I went with a simple Burt's Bees lipgloss to give my pout a slight red sheen.
My pearl-back earrings are classic with a twist, which mirrors the attitude of this entire look.

This look is all about taking classic pieces and making them edgier. I'm wearing a pencil skirt, but it's a leather green pencil skirt. I have black pumps on, but they feature a pointed toe and an ankle strap. My earrings are pearls on steroids and my blouse is striped for a more intense vibe. This outfit works for almost any occasion and it ensures you look fierce along the way. The formula is simple: channel your inner Blair Waldorf and throw on a neck tie, anything leather, and of course some fabulous pearls!
From Queen B herself, "Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, design, and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we'd like to be."

I've only worn (faux) leather a handful of times because the weather here does not permit leather to be worn very often, but I absolutely love their edge. Your take on the classic outfit is wonderful; you look so chic!
