Rainbow Brite // striped skirt + top

Anyone else love breaking out their brightest, baddest, most colorful pieces once the temperatures rise? I mean, let's be real, summertime was MADE for showing off just how fabulous you look in color - and with a rainbow set like this, staying on trend is easier (and more fun) than ever! 

Although looks can be deceiving, this is NOT a dress - did I fool you? This is actually a matching top and skirt set. And the glorious thing is that I can also pair this fun tank with a plain black skirt if I'm not in the mood to look like a walking, talking rainbow. 

This pleated midi skirt is so fun! It's flattering, full of personality, and perfect to twirl in. Plus, paired with my tank it becomes the anchor to a magical, unbeatable combination. And for a more toned-down look, it also looks just as fabulous with a white v-neck or black crop top. 

Black suede ankle-strap heels are timeless and effortless. I prefer mine with a chunky block heel because it ensures I can dance the night away in blissful comfort! 

With no green in my striped ensemble, I decided to incorporate the hue through my shades. This round-framed pair has a retro flair, which I love, but they're also very modern due to the oversized silhouette. 

Same with green, there's no purple in my skirt or tank, so I thought pairing my trusty lilac bag with this look was perfect. It really gives my outfit the total rainbow effect! 

This gold and black layered necklace makes a bold statement. I find myself reaching for it when I'm wearing much simpler outfits, but I love how, here, it blends in so effortlessly with my stripes. 

Surprisingly, as well as these studs compliment my necklace, they are from two totally different designers. Don't you just love when that happens? These earrings are Marc Jacobs while my necklace is Kenneth Jay Lane. 

For a sultry, summertime vibe, I gave myself a golden smoky eye using Urban Decay's Naked palette. Pretty striking, right? It reminds me of a summer sunset! And as for my lips, I went for a rosy, nude hue in a matte finish. The color is Backtalk from Urban Decay, which is part of UD's newest lipstick launch! If you haven't already, check it out.

This look was made for summer parties! It's easy, it's fun, it's comfortable, and it's totally twirl-worthy. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to wear this to a soiree YET, but I HAVE worn this number out and about on a gorgeous NYC Saturday; a weekend that involved brunch, shopping, and a whole lot of sunshine!
