Anything But Ordinary // tulle sweatshirt + metallic boots

skirt with jeans
Dare to be different in a sweatshirt that doubles as a dress, dare to stand out in look-at-me metallic booties, and dare to attention seek in piled-on accessories because, after all, you're anything but ordinary ;) You know that quote? "In a world full of Cheerios, be the Fruit Loop?" Yeah, it's kind of like that.

Inject a little tulle into your life! Not a fan of over-the-top ballerina skirts? This unique sweatshirt may just be your new BFF. It's a top that has long, drapey tulle attached to its hem, and, I don't know about you, but I am SO into it. It's def a statement piece, and even better, it never fails to attract compliments!

Paired with this top, I wanted my pants to be super skinny. I opted for dark-wash high-rise denim, and it almost looks like I'm wearing leggings. Once temps get even warmer, I'm planning on wearing black shorts underneath instead of jeans.

I feel like these booties are straight out of a sci fi novel! But while metallic is definitely out-of-this-world, the trend is also so NOW. In shoe form, such a mirrored finish adds instant polish while giving you major style cred. Fun fact: Ice-T once complimented me on these beauties!

Of course ONE metallic piece is never enough, right? I couldn't resist throwing this bronze clutch into the mix as a funky way to add even more shine to my dark, moody look.

Sunglasses always amp up your ensemble. Once again, I chose my shiniest pair to echo the metallic finish of my shoes and bag. So much silver has me feeling like I belong in the future!

Chokers have been my go-to jewelry item lately, and my favorite of the moment is this gorgeous Free People piece. It's fresher than your typical black velvet strip and it looks super fierce when paired with a longer, edgy necklace. Seriously, the power of necklace layering is real!

While I originally thought I was going to wear a super dark plum shade of lipstick with this look, I changed my mind at the last minute and decided to paint my pout with a nude matte gloss - a total 180! I'm so glad I went neutral though, as my look is already enough borderline-goth for me as it is. A fresh, bright face is just what my outfit needed!

Pants worn under skirts/dresses is totally a thing now! Has anyone else noticed? If you don't believe me, check out Emma Watson here, this runway model here, and this fashion blogger here. Have I convinced you enough to try the trend for yourself?

While standing out isn't for everyone, I love rocking pieces that have a little flair. I'm not one to go CRAZY when it comes to street style, but tulle attached to a sweatshirt? Sign me up! If you're looking to stand out more, without feeling like Lady Gaga, try starting small with metallic accessories. They're attention-grabbing yet mainstream.

Just like last week, this is another indoor photoshoot! But the best part? I was happily proved wrong that shooting indoors CAN look good! You just have to make sure there's plenty of natural light. This set was taken inside Brookfield Place and I love how they turned out. If you have any, share your tips for shooting indoors below!
