Spring Has Sprung

As soon as winter clears and warm weather sets in, I can't help but reach for my florals - layering is key!
Layering a silky blouse underneath a casual jumper is a great way to add some pattern and color to an otherwise simple look. Not to mention the extra layer is perfect for spring's transitional weather.
Nude heels instantly pull together any look.
This is a great brunch outfit or something fun to wear while shopping. The flared skirt adds a spring to my step!

This is one of my favorite dresses because it's so versatile and can really work well in any season. In summer I love wearing it as is with some funky wedges and colorful jewelry. But for this time of year, I thought layering a springy blouse underneath was the best way to create a feminine and classy look that will keep me comfortable and warm.

I've recently started experimenting with layering dresses and I love the creativity involved in creating a whole new look just by adding a shirt under or over a dress. It feels like my wardrobe suddenly got a whole lot bigger!

Who says flowers have to be dainty and girly? Amp up the sexiness of your go-to floral dress with edgy leather, sleek ankle-stap heels, sharp jewelry, and moody lipstick.
A floral sundress has never looked this spicy.
A strategic cutout like this one - placed in a very flattering spot - is both sultry and unexpected. Perfect for date night!
Playful floral gets a flirtatious upgrade for nighttime when paired with dark accessories and dramatic makeup.
Never underestimate the power of a well-placed cutout. They'll take you from sweet to sexy in an instant.

Get a little wild with your florals this season by experimenting with edgy accessories. One of the best ways to do this is by playing around with your makeup. A dramatic lip color changes your whole vibe. And of course, throwing on a leather jacket never hurts either!

Stand Out From The Crowd

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

It's true, the 90s habit of tying your jacket around your waist favored by moms and tourists everywhere, is back...but this time in style.
The neat thing about this trend is that it's a super easy and casual alternative to a belt if you want to cinch your waist, which is perfect for tunics or flowey tops. You just need to make sure to keep the edge and some major stye alive in order to avoid looking like a goofy amusement park goer.
If you're going to tie an article of clothing around your waist, you should make sure that there's some edge to the rest of your outfit. Cue statement metal accessories and a pair of killer sling-backs.
Keep the rest of your outfit simple and chic. Avoid bright colors paired with loud patterns. Save the Hawaiian print for Disney World.
Leather leggings make a simple look like this stand out. You want to add as many different textures as you can, and leather paired with denim and cotton is an effortless spring combination.

I've never been one who enjoys blending in. In fact, I've learned that it doesn't take much to stand out and embrace your individuality. Take personal style for example, there's no better outlet for me to showcase my mood and spirit than through clothing.

And I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes:

"If you're lucky enough to be different, don't change to be the same."
