A bold pattern in an elegant cut is the definition of modern chic. Think geometric designs or graphic prints in a striking black and white combo. This full-on geo look I'm rocking is perfect for the pre-fall season because it's loud without being obnoxious and eye-catching without being over-the-top.
To the naked eye (especially from afar) it would appear as if I'm wearing a dress. But surprise! This is actually two pieces. I bought them together but I love that I can wear them apart too. Checkout how I styled the tee here. Despite their quirky print, both pieces are quite versatile, but there is something dramatic about wearing them together that I can't resist.
For those of you who have been following my blog since January, you know that these burgundy heels are my baby. I can't believe this is the first time I've posted about them this whole summer. But hey, better late than never! I absolutely adore burgundy (shoutout to Pantone's color of the year) and having burgundy be the pop of color in this otherwise color-muted look was icing on the cake for me. They make such an impact and help bring this already bold ensemble to super-fierce status.
When picking my jewelry, I didn't want to overwhelm the print or upstage my shoes, but at the same time I knew I needed a little extra something for pizazz. So I picked a simple gold choker, which elevates my look by complimenting its modern feel. It's not overbearing but it does add a polished touch that completes the entire outfit.
Sporting a funky midi is simple (even in the office). Just swap your trusty pencil skirt for a standout calf-skimming style and look to geometric prints. At work keep things simple and let the pattern do the talking.
Bright nails in the spring and summertime are a weakness of mine. I thought it'd be fun to play off the burgundy in my shoes and paint my nails turquoise to give my look a playful twist.
I've recently tried to step up my makeup game and it's been fun experimenting with smokey eyes, highlighters, and vivid lips. I actually watched a video tutorial to get my eyeshadow just right and I'm really happy with the result. It's not my everyday style, but a gold and gray smokey eye is super fun for a night out. It just adds to the drama of this whole look!

I'm clearly not in New York City in these photos. These were actually taken back in North Carolina right before I graduated college. But seeing all these back-on-campus statuses and posts has me feeling super nostalgic since this is my first year not returning to school. So I decided this would be the perfect time to post the last photos I have of me on my alma mater's campus. As the sun sets on one adventure, it rises on another! I'm very excited to see what this fall will bring here in The Big Apple. Stay tuned!
