Yes it's after Labor Day and yes I'm wearing white. But hey, rules were made to be broken, am I right? Plus white-on-white is my new favorite combo (in case you couldn't tell from all of my summer posts here, here, here, and here) and it's way too beautiful to only wear a few months out of the year. So I am embracing white and giving it my stamp of approval for all-year-round wear. And let's be real, we still have two more weeks until it's officially fall.
To master white during the chillier months, ground the bright hue with a calm neutral. Camel is your best choice during these transitional weeks due to its soft yet warm tone.
It may be well into September but here in NYC things have yet to cool down. This past Tuesday was actually one of the hottest days of the year for us, which makes it hard for me to even think about jeans, scarves, and boots. I love this look because it has an autumn vibe yet I can still wear it in the heat.
My leopard print Sam Edelman heels are a forever favorite of mine. They work in any season but I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of use out of them this fall. Leopard & autumn is an effortless combination, just like sprinkles & soft serve - it just has to happen!
I chose gold jewelry to bring out the warm tones in my outfit. Gold is such an elegant metal for fall, and paired with a cleansing white background it truly stands out.
I love breaking style "rules" and figuring out a way to make a fashion faux-pas work, because I don't care what anyone says, white is a classic color and can be worn whenever you want! Here I was able to turn an all-white outfit into a pre-fall look with some wild print, a statement jacket, and a touch of gold.
This unique ear candy by Cara New York was inside the birthday box my mom sent me in August. They can be worn up the side of your ear or dangling below your lobe like I have them. I love the spikes and how they give this dainty pair of earrings a spark of edge.
This killer fall jacket from Ann Taylor (which is now on sale) was an easy choice for me because it can double as a blazer. It's definitely a step above your typical jacket and I love this shade of brown, it's very timeless and polished.
[top: Ann Taylor // shorts: Ann Taylor // jacket: Ann Taylor // heels: Sam Edelman //necklace: Ann Taylor (similar here) // earrings: Cara New York (I also like this pair) // cream bangle: Kate Spade // cream leather bangle: Reiss (I also like this one) // gold link bracelet: Stella & Dot // amethyst bangle: David Yurman // heart bracelet: Tiffany & Co.]
These photos were taken in my Upper Eastside neighborhood while one of my roommates (who also happens to double as my photographer) and I were exploring a street we had never visited before. When I texted one of these photos to my mom she exclaimed, "Nice picture! You're an urban explorer now!" and that's how this post title came about. Moms are always right and once I took a step back I realized that I really do resemble an explorer - complete with a tan jacket and leopard print heels.
More stylish exploring to come!

Your mom was right you do look like an explorer and a very chic one at that! I love that you are wearing white and I think we can all wear white until it gets too cold! You layered your outfit beautifully with that neutral jacket!

Haha you are an urban explorer now, I go to the doctor up there to the NYU Women's clinic. And I wore white today too. But you look a lot better then I did, I put on a pair of white jeans that I wanted to get rid of last summer but somehow forgot until I put them on again and was like oh yeah these look awful on me too big and stretched out. Yup two more weeks until fall time to do a closet purge.

You are soooo pretty! I love your outfit and all the jewellery you put on! You are so lucky to still have some hot weather and sunshine in New York - here in Denmark it's starting to get colder and jeans and scarves are definitely needed! I actually have to find a new jacket soon, because my denim jacket isn't very good at keeping me warm :/ But it's a good excuse to go on a shopping trip, haha :D
