Alright, so my outfit may not be electric, but this background sure is! And rocking this familiar combo of high-waisted mom jeans and a bodysuit, I sure FELT electric storming the streets of Brooklyn, New York. Sometimes the right outfit is all you need to feel energized and confident!
Considering my last post was all about mom jeans, I'll spare you the romance novel about why I love these pants so much. But seriously, if you don't already own a pair, I highly suggest the investment. They're basically sweatpants in denim form that are just as chic as they are comfortable. Paired with a bodysuit or crop top, they're all you need to complete a trendy off-duty look.
Last week I showed you a super casual bodysuit. A Tank top featuring the Calvin Klein logo, that option was sporty and fun. THIS bodysuit is perfect for date night. The off-the-shoulder silhouette is flirty and feminine, and I love the sexy sweetheart neckline. While I normally wear this with a skirt, I styled it with baggy jeans this time around for a contrasting uptown-downtown vibe. And guess what? It's STILL perfect for date night!
These heels aren't your average black platforms. While adding a touch of color - and interest - to my outfit, these embroidered shoes are just stunning. And better yet, the block heel and platform sole make them tolerable for walking around in. While I didn't cross the Brooklyn bridge in these, I did put them to the test around town.
The very definition of electric, this metallic clutch is vibrant and oh-so fun. To give my outfit that summery vibe, I knew I had to throw it in the mix. Plus, it looks great with my lipstick ;)
No spring/summer outfit is complete without a fierce pair of shades. I chose this mirrored pair for obvious reasons - it totally compliments my shiny silver bag!
These bright purple earrings are youthful and spirited. They were the perfect choice considering my other accessories are colorful and attention-grabbing too.
As I mentioned before, this look gives me major confidence. Isn't it great how an outfit can do that? Such a sexy top paired with super casual denim finds that perfect balance of feminine meets tomboy, which is a vibe I've been loving lately. And I mean, have I mentioned how much I love these jeans?
Bright pink lips call for neutral eyeshadow and a toned down complexion. Therefore, I kept my beauty look relatively simple here. With my signature long lashes, I just dusted neutral shadow on my lids and applied a solid layer of hot pink lip color. SO electric, right?

Love this outfit! I've been a little wary of getting into the bodysuit trend (http://andthenwetried.com/2017/06/can-i-wear-a-bodysuit/) but I think pairing it with a pair of mom jeans might be just the look I need! Trendy but still comfortable. Thanks for the inspo!
