For me, stripes are a classic must-have closet favorite. I definitely have more striped tops in my wardrobe than any other pattern, and that's completely okay because of how timeless the design is. Stripes will never go out of style and they look great in every color and in countless forms. One of my favorite ways to wear stripes however, is in the most recognizable and classical form yet- the ever bold red and white striped simple tee. Red and white stripes are nautical and patriotic, flattering and cheerful, and always fresh. Red and white also tends to give off a playful vibe when paired together due to the color of candy canes and peppermints being red and white as well.
I love a white short in general, and these distressed longer ones match perfectly with this red and white crop top and really help to balance the shortness of the shirt out. I was going for a playful picnic-in-the-park type of look, and the added distress on the shorts creates that casual feeling by taking the sophistication of white shorts down a notch. The braided belt breaks up the white color and creates texture that matches well with the braided thong part of the sandals I chose. I love this comfortable yet cute look, and I think it's perfect for a fun day outside!
